Please come and celebrate the closing of 5 great years with us. I'll post... a reminder a week before but wanted my friends to be the first to hear it directly from me. Much love.

I had a sleep study done and was diagnosed with moderate obstructive sleep apnea a couple of weeks ago. I stopped breathing an average of 29 times per hour. I would stop breathing for up to 22 seconds each time. During the course of the evening my heart rate went from 55bpm at the beginning to 115bpm just before waking. This is what's been causing the exhaustion; my body wasn't resting.

I went and picked up my cpap machine yesterday. I look like an alien face sucker is attached to me when I wear the apparatus. I woke up a few times during the night and took it off several times but I managed to keep it on for most of the night. It's going to take a bit of getting used to and some adjustments but there's light at the end of the tunnel. For the first time in what seems like forever, I don't feel exhausted. I don't feel like crawling right back into bed and sleeping a few more hours. Granted, I don't feel "awake" but this is a very promising start.

I was filming a show. It was a courtroom scene. Many of the people who were in the scene were drunk. It was supposed to be an empty set but when I got in there, there was an actual case going on and they told me to take a seat on one of the benches to wait. A gurney got rolled into the doors and on it was my dad, he sat up and started laughing, told me everything was okay. I got light-headed and thought I was having a heart attack. Sat there with my head tucked between my knees till it passed.

I got up and went out into the hallway where my dad was waiting for me. He said he had to go and I started crying my eyes out. I remember holding him tightly and telling him how much I loved him and that I'd miss him. He walked around the corner and disappeared.

I went back into the courtroom set, crying. Some of my uncles were there, they were teasing me about crying. My grandmother who passed away last year was there too. She told me in spanish that if they kept teasing me to tell them to go fuck themselves and i clung on to her, crying into her neck and shoulder telling her how much I loved her.

We couldn't continue shooting the scene so it cuts to needing to move. I couldn't find work but we had a new place that was just down the street. My brother and mother were helping me move dishes from one place to the next and the place was in a wooded area. We were all in the kitchen getting other dishes washed and packed up when I looked out the window. A big black bear had a cougar on it's backside, literally. A smaller brown bear was chasing the two down a dirt path. My dog, who has never been my dog in reality, was chasing the three of them. All of a sudden they did a 180 and started coming back up the path. My dog started attacking the black bear, the cat got off the bear and all of them started attacking my dog. I started screaming for my dog to run away but they started tearing into him. I remember closing my eyes and screaming over and over and everyone around me screaming, telling me not to look. I woke up just after.

Nala and I have a bad habit of exchanging gifts too early. We were very proud of ourselves, waiting till the 23rd before exchanging them this year. He got me a new set of Calphalon cookware and a new computer chair as my main pressies. SQUEE! I got him a new gaming mouse, a couple of games and a space heater for under his desk. Can you tell which one of us is unemployed at the moment? :P

Went to my mom's for Christmas eve. My bro, sil, his friend and girlfriend came by as well. Had a lovely turkey dinner and opened presents afterwards. Mom got me a fleece blanket, oh so comfie. Bro got us a pic of Nala and I in a nice frame. I loved it, it's of Nala and I Kissing at their wedding and the frame reads, "ALWAYS...Kiss me goodnight." Nala got a robe from my mom, which he'd been needing a new one. We got my mom a computer. It's a used one but it works and she's been wanting one forever. She was floored.

For Christmas day, we opened his mom's box of gifties to us which always includes stockings. That's my favorite thing from them every year. :D She got us a terabyte external HD. WooT! A game and mice with catnip for the girls. We played video games all afternoon, had hot buttered rum, took a nap. Ended the evening with a little bit of SL, then some WoWing before bed.

I may be money poor but I'm family and friends rich and that's the best present of all.

Wedding Week Recap

Let me start with my dad's arrival last Saturday, the 8th. I am a bad daughter, I completely forgot he was coming in that day. I forgot to tell Frank he was coming in that day. I also forgot to tell him he was staying the whole week. Oops. On Monday I found out dad didn't even have a suit and didn't have enough money to buy one. Guess who ended up having to foot the bill? Because, ya know, being unemployed and all, I have a ton of cash to spare.

Helped the bride with last minute things throughout the week. Had the rehearsal dinner on Tuesday night. Woke up early Thursday and it was nonstop till the reception ended at 11:30pm. The ceremony was beautiful; I cried the whole time. I couldn't help it, I was so happy to see the two of them finally wed after 20 years. Yes, I said 20 years. They've been together since they were 17. Everyone had a blast, danced all night and drank just enough to be loose but not enough to be obnoxious. I hate being "the one" everyone talks about the next day, that honor went to her eldest sister who was also a bridesmaid.

My blisters had blisters the next morning and everyone was pretty beat up but we managed to rally and that evening a bunch of the friends in for the wedding got together for one last bit of visiting before everyone went back to their homes around the country. Took dad to the airport last Saturday and spent the rest of the weekend just relaxing and playing WoW.

Now back to your regularly scheduled program.

Zombies

Restless night.

Dreamed of zombies. Some hadn't turned all the way yet and still had thinking minds. Found a "safe" house but that started getting invaded. Killed so many zombies. My mom (not my mom) tried to shoot one of the smart ones but missed. I tried to shoot but was out of bullets. I ripped her legs off at the knees to try and slow her down. She was one mean bitch. I psyched her out by running into a room and pretending to crawl out the side window. She ran outside, around the side of the house and I then bolted out the front of the house where "mom was waiting for me to help escape. Started climbing up a tree to jump onto the roof...and woke up drenched in sweat. I must've been clenching my teeth because my jaws hurt like hell. Ugh.

but I finally did it. The dissolution of my marriage in legality will be on February 3, 2009. I'm glad it doesn't fall on any important days. Is it too early to start drinking?

Edit: I'm sorry I wasn't clear. I guess I just thought everyone knew Nala and I aren't married. It's not Nala, it's an ex of several years that I wasn't able to legalize divorce with due to lack of funds. Thanks for caring so much! Love my friends.

Ok, not really a party but we did have a couple of Plurkers come over for a weekend visit on what was deemed the S.P.A.R.E. tour (Special Plurk Autumn Roadtrip Event.) Prisqua and CT Xue came in on Saturday afternoon, we took them to Coronado to watch a sunset, came back here and did our event for EB Awareness. Tried to get Prisqua's SL to work and finally managed to towards the end of the set. Stayed up till 4am talking w/CT. Woke up with a hangover, had coffee with them before they took off to L.A. Spent the day nursing said hangover and called it an early night. All in all a very pleasant visit.

So, as stated in the last post, Hobbes came for a weekend visit. We played Rock Band 2 on Friday night. Took Saturday night off from TriNala show. Sunday we took the pooch to Coronado for some beachie sight-seeing and then WoWed the afternoon and evening away. Took him to the airport yesterday morning and then came home and tried to relax as best I could. I've got a fibromyalgia flare up kicking my arse that's carried into today. A culmination of changes in weather, stress and just breathing. I hate resorting to pills but I think a muscle relaxer's in order today. So, that's the sum up in a nut shell for the last few days.

Have a happy Tuesday, peeps. :)

Oh and I made a roast last that smelled great but was tough as leather. *sigh*

A Tale of an Interview from an Alternate Universe

Because Nala suggested I blog this, I will. Sorry if the written story doesn't quite convey the sheer OMGWTFBBQ! of the interview I went on today. Let me preface it by saying that the first of the two interviews went standardly normal. It was the second that left me with a WTF face at the end of it all.

After introductions:

Interviewer 2: (shuffling papers around to find my resume)Tell me about yourself while I try and find your resume.
Me: General information about work history and whatnot
Interviewer 2: So, what nationality are you?
Me: ..........Uh, Mexican American
Interviewer 2: I knew you weren't fully American, I just couldn't put my finger on what.
Me:..........
Interviewer 2: So, how do you pronounce your name? (I pronounce it) That sounds more German than Mexican.
Me: Not really, if it was German, it would be pronounced (how it would possibly be pronounced in German)
Interviewer 2: So, I see you listed this thing about virtual worlds. What's this mean and do I want to know? Is it like Second Life? (Yes, he asked specifically about SL)
Me: Second Life is only one small bit of online networking tools but yes.
Interviewer 2: So, how would I go about joining Second Life, do I just log in?
Me: You'd create an avatar (gets cut off)
Interviewer 2: You mean I wouldn't be able to be myself?
Me: Yes, you could be yourself if that's what you wanted. An avatar is the character you create, no matter what you want that character to be.
Interviewer 2: Ah. And what do people do in Second Life?
Me:........(explains several different ways SL is used)
Interviewer 2: So, what else do they do?
Me: You can log in and find out for yourself.
(Actual pertinent questions to the interview)
Interviewer 2: So, is your father Mexican?
Me: No, My mother is Mexican.
Interviewer 2: So, is your mother married?
Me:.........(hesitantly explains)
Interviewer 2:: How about your father?
Me:.........(hesitantly explains)
Interviewer 2: Do you have any questions for me?
Me:...................
